Cowsharing
On Saturday, we visited Hedgebrook Farms in Winchester, VA. We went out there to buy a share in a cow named Blue. She will be providing us with 1 gallon of fresh raw, unpasteurized, non-homogenized milk each week.

They have over 100 animals at this small dairy farm, including llamas, turkeys, chickens, sheep, goats, peacocks, a sweet Great Dane named Tucker, and a very cute baby calf (with Debo below).

The best part of the whole day was Ella riding in the backpack on my shoulders. She was so thrilled to be outside in the wind and the fresh air on such a gorgeous winter, yet very mild day, that she was squealing with delight for hours. What a completely happy baby. Her hair was blowing in the breeze.

We went down into the mud and the muck to look for Blue. Ella couldn't get enough of the fresh air. She flapped her arms and had a blast.

Noah and Ella met the goats, as well. What a fun day! I know we all can't wait to visit in the spring!
